The SunWise Program

EPA's SunWise Program is an environmental and health education program that aims to teach the public how to protect themselves from overexposure to the sun through the use of classroom-, school- and community-based components.

The SunWise website provides parents, teachers and students all the resources they need to be SunWise

  • Schools can join the program and receive a FREE SunWise Tool Kit containing a variety of fun tools and activities.
  • Students can learn about sun safety through fun, interactive activities and contests.
  • Local Communities can learn about sun safety and learn how to help spread the word. You can also sign-up for UV alerts!

WeatherBug Schools works with SunWise on initiatives, like the annual SHADE National Poster Contest, aimed at educating students on the important of sun safety. WeatherBug Schools incorporates many of the SunWise lessons into the WeatherBug Achieve curriculum.
