Hard Freeze Warning Defined


A Hard Freeze Warning is issued during the growing season when widespread temperatures are expected to fall below 28 degrees for a prolonged period of time. This can occur with or without the formation of frost. Precautions should be taken to ensure the life of cold-sensitive plants.

Additional tips:

  • Cover any sensitive outdoor plants
  • Bring inside any potted plants
  • Bring pets inside
