Much of the U.S. will see energetic thunderstorms as searing heat continues in the Southwest.

WeatherBug Meteorologist Addison Green has the latest in this exclusive WeatherBug National Outlook video.

The all-too-familiar roar of thunderstorms will echo throughout the Eastern U.S. as another potent system sweeps eastward. Afternoon storms will bring rain and thunder from the Midwest and Ohio Valley to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Severe storms with strong winds will dot the landscape across Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. The coastal Southeast will also contend for a slice of the wet weather. Temperatures will range from the 70s in the Northeast and northern Midwest to the 80s in the southern Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. Highs in the 90s will spread throughout the Southeast.

Elsewhere, the Central U.S. will get another dose of booming weather as thunderstorms stomp across the Central Plains, Rockies and Southwest. Storms will stretch from the western half of the Central Plains to the eastern reaches of the Southwest. Highs in the 80s will invade the Rockies while 90s are felt in the Central Plains. Triple-digit highs will once again blaze across the Southwest.

Blue skies will spread amongst the rest of the U.S. Highs in the 70s will be found in the Pacific Northwest and West Coast while the Northern Plains reaches the middle 70s to middle 80s. Scorching temperatures in the 90s and 100s will infiltrate the Southern Plains, Intermountain West and Northern Great Basin.
