Rain is pushing across the Gulf Coast and Southeast as a sluggish storm makes its way to the Atlantic coast. The rain will make for a soggy and breezy end to the weekend in the Carolinas and a dreary work week start in the Mid-Atlantic as the moisture tracks along the I-95 corridor this afternoon.
A weak storm system continues to blanket much of the Southeast this morning with rain showers. The storm, fueled by plenty moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, is producing widespread rain showers from northern Florida to the southern Appalachians.
Up to 1 inch of rain will drench a large stretch of real estate from northern Florida to the eastern Carolinas, along and east of the I-95 corridor as the system slowly churns towards the eastern Seaboard. While rainfall with the storm is not nearly as impressive as it was in Texas where some places picked up 5 to 10 inches of downpours, it still may be enough to cause a few flooding problems in the Southeast. If you come across water in the road, do not attempt to cross it. Remember: "Turn Around, Don`t Drown!"
The low will run out of steam as it tracks north along the East Coast, but not before bringing some soggy and breezy conditions to start the work week.
