A cold front zipping out of the Great Lakes is moving into the Northeast, bringing a chill to the air and even a little reminder that winter is around the corner. Sunshine will be the dominant weather element from the East to West Coast.
WeatherBug Meteorologist Rachel Peterson has today`s forecast in this exclusive WeatherBug National Outlook Video.
A fast-moving cold front is quickly rushing across the Great Lakes and upper Ohio Valley this morning. In its wake are breezy winds and slowly-dropping temperatures. Another fast-moving low will swing from the Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley this afternoon, producing a quick round of rain and snow while reinforcing the cold air in the northern Plains. Meanwhile, a few spotty showers will soak small areas of Florida.
Aside from those two areas of the U.S., sunny, dry and mild weather will be the norm from Cape Hatteras, N.C., to San Francisco.
Cooler 30s and 40s will spread along the northern tier from North Dakota through the Great Lakes into western New England. The Northwest, under plenty of sunshine, will see typical early November highs in the 50s.
The central Plains to Mid-Atlantic will see highs in the 60s with warmer 70s and 80s from the Southeast into the southern Plains through much of the Southwest and into California.
