WeatherBug Backyard Blog Support:
- How can I become a Backyard Club Member?
To become a Backyard Club Member:
- Log on to blog.weatherbug.com/backyard
- On the right side, locate and click on the "Become a Backyard Weather Reporter" link
- Read the info on the page, then click the button, "Click Here to Apply Today"
- Fill out the form and click "Submit"
- You will be notified in 7 - 10 business days if you have been selected to join the Backyard Reporter Team.
- I'm already a Backyard Club Member. How do I submit a story for the Backyard Blog?
Step 1: The Backyard Club Blog
In an Internet browser open the following link: blog.weatherbug.com/backyard
This will take you to the Backyard Club homepage. Along the right side of the page, you'll see the main navigation of the site. At the top of the page are links that go to the regional Backyard Blogs. Your entry will go into the region that is most appropriate for your location.
Step 2: Log-in
Click on the WeatherBug Weather Reporter Login link on the right side of the page to login to your account. The login screen for the Weather Reporter story editor will appear. Use the Login and password emailed to you by WeatherBug to login to the site.

Step 3: Writing your Report
You should now be in the Weather Reporter Story Editor. There are only three fields you need to type content into:
- Title - Enter the title of your post here
- URL - This will fill in automatically
- Summary - This is the byline. You should use your name followed by WeatherBug Backyard Reporter. For example: By Jane Doe, WeatherBug Backyard Reporter.
- Body - This will be the main text of your story. Type as much information
as you would like in this section. There are seceral features you can use to enhance
your text:
- To italicize, highlight the word you would like to be italicized and click on the button [<i>] in the blue shaded box.
- To bold, highlight the word or phrase you would like bold and click on the button [<b>] in the blue shaded box.
- To add a hyperlink, highlight the word you would like to be a hyper link and click on the button [Link] in the blue shaded box. You will then enter the link in the box that appears and click OK all the way through.
- To add a strike through a word, highlight the word and click on the button [strike] in the blue shaded box.
- To underline, highlight the word and click on the button [<u>] in the blue shaded box.
Instructions for photo submissions will be sent to you separately.
Step 4: Preview your content
Once you have finished writing your report, it is important to preview it. To do this, click on the "Preview" button at the bottom of the page. This will load your text at the top of the page and show how it would appear once it is published.
