WeatherBug and SchoolTube Announce Technology Agreement to Integrate WeatherBug Content for Students and Teachers across the Country

Washington, DC., NECC (Booth #1144), — WeatherBug and SchoolTube announced today a technology agreement to integrate WeatherBug live, local weather content and videos for students and teachers across the country. Available this fall, students and teachers will be able to use WeatherBug weather graphics, maps, and real-time weather information from its national network of 8,000 weather stations to generate and post weather-centric videos via the SchoolTube platform.

This same weather content is available through the WeatherBug Schools program to help enhance education through technology and to augment math, science and geography lessons in thousands of schools nationwide. In addition, WeatherBug media partners, that include weather experts and meteorologists at leading TV stations across the nation, also use this same content on-air during their local newscasts.

"We see this partnership as another great opportunity to extend the WeatherBug brand and to provide many new students and teachers with our professional weather content," said Frank McCathran, Director, WeatherBug Education and Media Services. "We are very excited to partner with SchoolTube to help encourage students to produce innovative and creative videos by incorporating live weather information from their school or from anywhere in the world."

SchoolTube is a network of students, educators, and industry working together to foster video production and Internet publishing in a safe online learning environment. SchoolTube is nationally endorsed by premier education associations such as The Association for Career and Technical Education, National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Association of Schools Counsel and many others.
