Julie Gaddy
Senior Meteorologist
Julie Gaddy started working at WeatherBug in January 2007 as a Senior Meteorologist.
Her responsibilities include providing short, medium and long-range forecasts for
various clients, creating written and graphical content for the general public,
performing quality control on real-time weather alerts, and providing managerial
support. Prior to WeatherBug, Gaddy worked for the National Weather Service, specializing
in remote sensor data applications, and in the surface transportation weather industry.
Gaddy earned her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology at Florida State University, where she spent her spare time competing in intramural athletics and on the FSU Ultimate Frisbee club team. She then went on to earn her Master’s in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma, with intense study of tornadoes. Currently, Gaddy remains competitive in soccer and racquetball. Gaddy also is an online instructor of Meteorology for aviation students. She is an avid chess player and is a licensed amateur radio operator.
