Now

A cluster of showers and thunderstorms across the big country will impact western portions of north Texas this afternoon. There is no ongoing severe weather...but the potential for a strong or severe storm will increase as the afternoon progresses. The activity will move northeast at 45 mph. Despite the speed of movement...rainfall amounts may exceed 1/2 inch under the heavier downpours. Elsewhere across north and central Texas...scattered showers with a few isolated thunderstorms will persist throughout the afternoon. These cells will also move quickly to the northeast... Limiting the duration of rain at any location. Most areas will remain dry...and where rain does fall...amounts will be generally under a tenth of an inch. Although there has been little lightning with the activity so far today...those engaged in outdoor activities should keep abreast of the weather. Move indoors immediately if lightning is seen or thunder is heard.
