Like most northern mid-Atlantic cities, Baltimore weather consists of four distinct seasons. The summers can be quite hot as downsloping winds off the Appalachians to the west warm the city to temperatures well into the 90’s.
Unpredictable east coast winter storms can make Baltimore weather quite a hassle from time to time. In January of 2000, a surprise snowstorm, which was forecasted to go out to sea, ended up dropping nearly 20 inches of snow on the city.
