At 12:04 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars continued to detect scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms moving into portions of eastern Oklahoma from central Oklahoma. Most of the precipitation was occurring within Pittsburg County...however...additional showers were also developing over Okmulgee County. All this activity was moving toward the northeast...around 20 miles per hour. Through 1:00 PM...scattered rain showers...with isolated thunderstorms...will continue to develop and spread eastward into parts of east central Oklahoma. Some of the storms could become strong...with heavy rainfall and thunder and lightning. Coverage of the rain showers and thunderstorms is expected to increase during the afternoon hours.
Partly cloudy late in the morning. Chance of rain showers late in the morning...then occasional rain showers and chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.
