At 1150 PM...numerous strong to severe thunderstorms were west of a line from Alva to Hollis. The storms were moving toward the east at 30 mph. A large area of strong west winds was near the leading edge of these storms. Winds in this area were gusting to 40 to 60 mph. The storms are expected to continue to move east overnight. Storm coverage and intensity will begin to decrease after about 2 AM. Through 1 AM...the storms and strong winds will affect approximately the area west of a line from Cherokee to Altus...and possibly as far south as Quanah Texas. Although wind will be the main effect of the storm complex...the stronger individual storms may also produce quarter to half Dollar size hail.
