At 1:47 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars continued to detect an area of rain showers with isolated embedded thunderstorms affecting portions of eastern Oklahoma. Most of the precipitation was occurring within Pittsburg and McIntosh counties...however...additional showers were also developing within Tulsa...creek...and Pushmataha counties. All this activity was moving toward the northeast...around 25 miles per hour. Through 3:00 PM...rain showers with isolated thunderstorms will continue to develop and spread northeast across eastern Oklahoma. Some of the storms could become strong...with heavy rainfall...small hail...along with thunder and lightning. Coverage of the rain showers and thunderstorms is expected to increase during the afternoon hours.
