Regional weather discussion... Strong thunderstorms will move northeast across central Oklahoma through 8 PM. Heavy downpours... Frequent cloud to ground lightning... Gusty winds... And hail will be possible. The greatest risk of severe storms with large hail will be in southern Oklahoma... In the general area between Lawton and Pauls Valley. Radar at 6 PM indicated the leading edge of a broken area of heavy thunderstorms from Enid to El Reno to Duncan. Storms were moving northeast at 20 to 25 mph. Recent radar trends show that most of the individual storms were weakening as they approach central Oklahoma... While new storms were forming farther west around Binger and Geary. These trends have led to a slower eastward movement of the Overall area of storms... Which in turn will delay the arrival of the storms in much of the Oklahoma City area.
