New York Weather Info
New York weather often provides its many tourists perfect conditions for walking around and enjoying all the city has to offer. Although its winters can be quite harsh, consisting of sub-freezing temperatures and snowstorms, the city delights in high temperatures averaging in the 60’s or higher for over half the year.
In February of 2006, what had been a rather tranquil winter so far, turned into a raging snowstorm. Thunder-snow was reported throughout the tri-state area for several hours during the peak of the storm, a rather rare occurrence for New York. The city received its largest single-storm snowfall on record, just shy of 27 inches. Storms such as these serve as a reminder that New York weather can change just as quickly as the city itself.
