S of 5 PM...scattered showers of varying intensity...some with embedded heavier thunderstorms...will continue to pop up across the region through at least early this evening. Isolated stronger cells will have the potential to produce briefly heavy rainfall...small hail and gusty winds. Rainfall rates will vary anywhere from a tenth to a half inch per hour with most shower activity...with the strongest cells briefly producing rates of of up to an inch per hour. Motorists are advised to be prepared for rapidly changing visibilities...and ponding of water on area roadways in heavy downpours.
