Located within the Mojave Desert of southern Nevada, Las Vegas weather consists of very hot temperatures during the summer, mild winters, and plenty of sunshine all year round.
It is not uncommon for daytime highs to reach well above the century mark from June to August. A Las Vegas weather record was set in July of 2005, when the temperature reached 117 degrees at McCarran International Airport.
