Showers and thunderstorms will continue over northwest and north central New Mexico through the evening. Most storms will only produce brief heavy rain and occasional cloud to ground lightning. Storm motions though will be very slow so if any stronger storm persists over a longer time...they will produce locally heavy rainfall and minor flooding. Rain rates will easily reach one inch in one hours time. Areas that may be impacted through 7 PM mdt include Taos...Red River...Costilla...Tres Piedras...Chili...El Rito...Canones...Canon Plaza and chaco Canyon.
