At 1258 PM mdt...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm 12 miles northeast of Roy...moving northeast at 30 mph. The thunderstorm will generally remain over rural areas of northeastern Fergus County and the upper Missouri breaks recreation area including the Fred Robinson bridge area. Hail up to a half inch in diameter...wind gusts to 50 mph...heavy rainfall and frequent lightning strikes can be expected from this storm. Take shelter from the storm in a sturdy building. Boaters on area lakes or rivers should return to shore. Remember...lightning can strike up to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
