Moderate to heavy snow showers will continue to drift over portions of eastern Maryland...west of the Chesapeake Bay late this afternoon. This activity will continue to move east around 30 mph...affecting areas along the western shores of the Chesapeake Bay...to east of the I-95 corridor...dissipating by 6 PM. Under the heaviest snow showers...visibilities will be reduced to less than one half mile and lasting only a few minutes in any one location. A quick dusting to coating of snow is possible with this activity...though most road surfaces are still well above freezing. Localized areas will receive around half an inch of snow accumulation. In addition...wind gusts in the line of precipitation will reach between 30 and 40 mph at times. Temperatures will drop several degrees behind the boundary...with wind chills dropping from the low 40s into the 20s.
