Scattered but very slow-moving showers and thunderstorms with localized but very heavy downpours were developing and drifting north across the northern Maryland Eastern Shore late this morning. Isolated rainfall amounts in excess of an inch are expected into early afternoon, and any poor-drainage areas that experience such amounts can expect localized minor flooding. Any thunderstorm is capable of generating deadly cloud-to-ground lightning.
