Boston weather has been known to include a wide variety of events. Fierce nor’easters can ravage the city during the winter and summers can even bring tropical storms and hurricanes.

One of the more intense storms to affect the city was Hurricane Carol in 1954. Though the storm made landfall in Connecticut, it still managed to bring hurricane force winds to Boston. The storm caused massive power outages and damage, and is one of the worst tropical cyclones in Boston weather history.
