With unsettled conditions early today along with considerable cloud cover expect light rain showers to persist through the morning. Along with the showers...there will be a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms as the low pressure center east of the area begins to move away from the region. Rain amounts of around a tenth to a quarter of an inch are possible. Somewhat higher rain chances will exist along the east coast and Atlantic waters generally south of Cape Canaveral.
